PKAVS (Perth & Kinross Association of Voluntary Service)

PKAVS is a wellbeing charity dedicated to enhancing the lives of people across Perth & Kinross. Guided by values of compassion, collaboration, and impact, PKAVS works to empower individuals to flourish, fostering stronger, more connected communities. Established in 1972, PKAVS provides support to around 7000 people per year through 5 different services, and has a staff team of around 80.

Carers Support: PKAVS supports young, adult, and young adult carers with emotional, practical, and social assistance. Services include counselling, training, social groups, day trips, grants, and the Perth Day Respite Centre, which offers both respite for carers and social opportunities for the cared-for.

Mental Health and Wellbeing: Through The Walled Garden and Wisecraft, PKAVS provides therapeutic activities, recovery-focused programs, and vocational support for individuals aged 16 and over. These initiatives help clients improve their mental health, build confidence, and reconnect with their communities.

Shopmobility: This service provides individuals with limited mobility access to scooters and wheelchairs, enabling them to confidently engage with their communities and live more independently.

Big Hoose Project: PKAVS addresses poverty by providing essential household items like toiletries, cleaning products, and bedding to families and children in need across the region, helping ease the burden of financial hardship.

Third Sector Support: As the Third Sector Interface (TSI) for Perth & Kinross, PKAVS supports charities, community groups, and volunteer organisations with capacity building, funding distribution, training, and resources.
