Forth Children’s Theatre

Forth Children's Theatre (FCT) began in 1979 and works with young people aged 10-18 years to produce two or three high-quality productions each year. Unlike other companies, we do not charge the young people any fee ensuring the experience is open to all.
We are all volunteers, united in a passion for theatre and providing opportunities to young people from Edinburgh and the Lothians. We work with a variety of professional and up-and coming creative teams to put on amazing shows, which often receive 5-star reviews. We work with between 40-80 young people on each show, offering not only performance skills, but production management and front-of-house experience.
We have a current board of ten members who are from a mix of creative and business backgrounds. We have a strong, but small team of around 50 volunteers who work on our productions and to safeguard the young people.
We don't have a lot of technical knowledge or experience in digital marketing. We are currently reviewing all of our management and acknowledge that marketing and digital marketing are areas of key importance in our growth and future success.
We do not have any current strategies for which online tools we should be using for communications, although we do use Mail-chimp. We leave a lot of our online posting to young cast members and we don't utilise the loyal following we have in place.
We are really starting from scratch and would like someone to work with us to strategize and put in place a strong marketing and digital marketing structure that we can then build a marketing committee around to help with the majority of the work in the run up to a production.
We are a small organisation, but we have a huge potential to help young people gain confidence and skills. We are looking for someone who is willing to work with us in getting set up and to then ensure the charity can continue and grow.
We meet once a month (although there are sub-committees in the run up to showtime), and are more than happy to have support remotely. Once many of the basics are in place, we would tailoring our communications around the show, scheduling our media and attracting sponsorship opportunities.
