Embedding digital safeguarding policies in service planning and delivery
This interactive workshop is aimed at those who develop or manage services/projects within and are involved in developing safeguarding policies and procedures. Delegates will explore the following key areas:
- The core values and principles of developing and implementing digital safeguarding
- Effective approaches to risk assessment of online activities
- Ensuring meaningful involvement and collaboration with the people we support when developing safeguarding policies
This session is open to any charity sector employees and volunteers across the UK. Where spaces are limited priority will be given to grant holders of our funding organisations.
About the trainer
Marie has an extensive background in rights based approaches, group facilitation and leadership spanning community arts, early education and youth development. She is the founder and Director of social enterprise Sound Ambitions CIC which promotes wellbeing through music and creative experiences for children and families across Lanarkshire. She is the Project Co-ordinator at Mind Waves, a peer-led mental health charity that supports people with lived experience of mental ill health to share their stories and opinions online. Marie’s 20 year career in the Voluntary Sector has also included roles with sector-leading organisations such as Scottish Book Trust, Scottish Youth Parliament and The Children’s Parliament.
