Event Details

This workshop is about measuring impact. The session will cover ‘theory of change’ and the five key types of data organisations need. We’ll explore the ‘problem’ space, beneficiary characteristics, what we mean by ‘outcomes’ (and why they can sometimes be a challenge to measure). We’ll look at some useful population level data sources and measures, and consider helpful tools and processes. Finally we’ll reflect on benefits of the process, as well as the output, for enabling organisations to tell their story and win support for their cause.

Who’s it for?

Anyone in a charity or third sector organisation who wants to better understand impact measurement. It is particularly suitable for leaders, those in organisational development, fundraising and/or evaluation roles.

Who will be running the workshop?

The event will be facilitated by Sian Basker, Co CEO of Data Orchard an award winning UK social enterprise specialising in helping organisations get better with data. Sian has been helping charities measure and evidence impact for over 20 years. She has an MSc in Data Science and Analytics and leads on evaluation and impact at Data Orchard supporting clients to measuring the impact of their organisations, projects or grant programmes.
